James I. Miskella, retired United Airlines mechanic and accomplished metal and woodworker, died at his Citrus Heights home on May 13, 2022, at age 80. A native of Olympia, Washington and raised in California, he was a 1960 graduate of Santa Cruz High School. Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran and used his skills as a mechanic for United Airlines for 37 years. He was an avid motorcycle rider and logged thousands of road and off-road miles throughout the West. He enjoyed working on his Mustang, building off-road buggies, and fabricating metal and wood objects that were both ornamental and useful.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Betty Miskella and sister Carol Shields. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Peterson Miskella, children Tracy and Jeremy (Vanessa) , grandchildren Amber (Colton)Metcalf, Nate and Delaney Miskella, great-grandson Carter Metcalf, brothers-in-law Dan Peterson, SJ, Tom Peterson and sister-in-law Marsha, niece Trisha, and nephews Troy Peterson and Aaron Shields.
Funeral services will be held at Price Funeral Chapel (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA) on June 4,2022 at 10:00am. Inurnment will be in the family plot in Tumwater, Washington.
