James Micheal Saxon

James Micheal Saxon passed peacefully on April 20, 2025 in Orangevale, California, following complications from three strokes. He was 93. Jim was born November 3, 1931 in Wall, Pennsylvania and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He lived his life embodying the tenets in his favorite song of all time - "To Dream the Impossible Dream".  He had a good heart and love for many people, often opening his doors to friends or family, especially those who may have needed temporary lodgings.

Jim is survived by Janis, his wife of 39 years as well as his son Mike Saxon; his son Kevin Saxon and his wife Sue; his daughter Sheri Sabin and her husband Randy; as well as 6 grandchildren (who affectionately referred to him as "Grandpa Horse" and 3 great-grandchildren.  He was active in the scouting program with both of his sons, and enjoyed finding and restoring vintage cars.

During his full life, Jim enjoyed several careers.  He worked as a young man on the railroad in Pennsylvania, then voluntarily joined the army as a paratrooper.  After honorably serving his country for several years, he completed college and worked as an aerospace engineer for Rockwell for 20+ years. Later, in his fifties, he attended law school at La Verne University in Southern California and obtained his law degree, and in the 1990's opened his own law practice in Orangevale, Ca.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service honoring Jim on Wednesday, May 14th at 1:30 pm at the Sacramento Valley Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 5810 Midway Road in Dixon, CA.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations in Jim's name to the American Heart Association.

Rest in peace, Jim Saxon.  Know that you were loved by many and are missed.
