Jason Matthew Douglas (49), born at American River Hospital on May 15, 1971 had a great and ironic sense of humor. He was the first to make light of any situation, to find the humor, and help others to laugh. He was fiercely independent and definitely had opinions. From a young age, he had to take care of himself and his brother and get things done. He was also a kind and caring person. He always provided for his family and was very intelligent. Jason had an Information Technology (IT) degree from Heald Institute of Technology, and he was dedicated to his work as an IT Quality Assurance and Testing manager. He loved all things technical, including video gaming. He also loved playing pool and collecting family photos, which he proudly displayed around his home. Jason passed away at his home in Rancho Cordova, CA, on October 23, 2020. He loved his family and his many close friends. Jason was a loving and dedicated son to Arle Jeanne and Skip Simon and Terry Douglas; husband of 23 years to Toni Douglas; father to Connor and Trevor Douglas; father-in-law to Dalton Douglas; grandfather to Blake Piatt; brother to Jeromy Douglas and Laura Taylor Krbecek; brother-in-law to Meagan Douglas and Vlastimil Krbecek; uncle to Brianna Kelley, Forrest and Nathan Douglas, Berkeley Del Rio, and Annabelle Krbecek; grandson to Kitty and John Douglas and Richard and Beverly Taylor, and Susie Flenniken Taylor; and nephew to Kelly Douglas-Lin, Dan and Candy Douglas, and Jim Taylor. Jason also had a special aunt Lynda Cox and many cousins of different generations including Liz Higginbotham, Lynn Gentry and their children. Family and friends will forever miss Jason, a kind, good-humored, honest, and caring person. In remembrance of Jason’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), who offers a 24 hour helpline 1-800-950-6264 for those in need. There will be a cremation burial for Jason at the Camellia Memorial Lawn in Sacramento. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
