Javier Leguizamo

Javier Leguizamo passed away peacefully in Sacramento, California, on August 10, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on March 12, 1954, in Tonatico, Mexico, to the late Baldomero Leguizamo and Ricarda Acosta, Javier immigrated to the United States as a teenager in pursuit of the American Dream. He loved this country deeply, and one of his proudest life accomplishments was becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 1999. Through steadfast determination and a tireless work ethic, he built a life defined by dedication to his family and community. Javier spent his career as a commercial truck driver, finding joy in the freedom of the open road and pride in a hard day's work.

Outside of his career, Javier was a dedicated family man who cherished every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid traveler and found great satisfaction in home improvement projects, always using his hands and skills to enhance the home and lives of those he loved.

Javier is survived by his beloved wife, Irene Leguizamo (née Sotelo); his children, daughters-in-law, and son-in-law:
● Son: Javier Leguizamo Jr., his wife Jackie, and their son Roman
● Daughter: Graciela Acosta-Sanchez, her husband Carlos, and their children Johan and Milan
● Son: Ricardo Leguizamo, his wife Priscilla, and their sons Mateo and Samuel
● Son: Daniel Leguizamo and his wife Jessica
● Son: Alejandro Leguizamo, his wife Haley, and their son Leonel

Viewing and funeral will be held at Price Funeral Chapel. A viewing will take place on Sunday, August 16th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held the following morning at 10:00 AM Monday, August 17th, followed by burial at Sylvan Cemetery in Citrus Heights, California. Following the burial, family and friends are invited to gather for food and fellowship at Randy
Peters Event Center.
