Jean was born Aug 31, 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio. Jeannie and her two younger sisters, Audrey & Phyllis, grew up near Lake Erie, swimming in summer, ice skating in winter. She loved dogs and riding horseback. Jean was a beauty with a voice to match. She sang swing with Hal Lynn’s band AND operetta in Collinwood HS productions. Jean met Bob at Collinwood; romance budded, but war intervened. Bob was a Marine, back from the South Pacific, when they met again. They married Jul 18, 1947, moving to CA in 1948; they settled in Belmont. Jean and Bob had 4 children, and started Hi-Lo Appliance & TV Center during the 1950’s. 1954 was pivotal for the Au’s; Jean & Bob were baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They never looked back. The years flew by. Their were busy, and fruitful; children, grandchildren and great grandchildren followed. Through it all Jean sang. And when she could no longer sing, she helped others sing, directing choirs. She and Bob lived together in love, they loved their family, they served tirelessly in the cause of Christ. Her beloved Bobbie went ahead, passing away on Feb 20, 2017. Three years later, Jeannie followed, passing away on the very same day, Feb 20, 2020, in Auburn, CA. Besides “Bobbie”, Robert Au; Jean is predeceased by their sons, “Randy”, Randall B. (Tanis), and “Rob”, Robert W. P. (Judy). She is survived by her children Deborah (Peter) Beckh, Lawrence (Cindy) Au; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren (with more on the way); and her cousin, Richard “Andy” Andrews of Cleveland, Ohio. PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
