It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Marie West, who passed peacefully at her home in Roseville, California, surrounded by her family on October 2, 2024.  She was 86 years old. 

Jean was born on January 22, 1938, in Sacramento, California to the loving parents of Walter and Marie Gebhart.  Jean spent her childhood growing up in Auburn, California.  Jean attended Placer High School.  After high school Jean worked for a local real estate company and at the variety store, Shelton’s on Sylvan Corners in Citrus Heights, California.

Jean married Jack West on April 15, 1956, and they enjoyed 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised four children, Laurie, Robert, Keith and Russell. Jack and Jean were blessed with nine grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to their lives.

While raising their children, Jack and Jean worked hand-in-hand at their family-owned business, Walt Chevron Station in Citrus Heights, California. Jean had a deep passion for collecting dolls, bears and antiques.  She loved traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jack, her children Laurie (Richard), Robert (Christy), Keith (Glena) and Russell (Michelle).  Her grandchildren Richard Jr. (Olga), Tonya (Scott), Katrina (Benjamin), Ginne (Jeff), Melissa (Brandon), Adriane (Rob), Nicholas (Shelly), Kaitlyn (Brandon), Kurtis and her great-grandchildren Sasha, Jack, Bradley, Brandon, Hanna, Brayden, Jenna, Reagan, Ethan, Connor, Mason, Keira, Rory and another baby girl on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marie Gebhart, and her brother Wallace Benoist.

A memorial service will be held at Price’s Funeral Chapel in Citrus Heights on October 10, 2024, at 10:00 A.M.

Jean will be deeply missed and will be fondly remembered by her friends and family.
