Jennifer Ann Crooks, beloved wife, mother, Granny, sister, and friend, left this world suddenly and unexpectedly on November 4, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised in Anaheim, California, Jennifer lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
She married her eternal sweetheart of 47 years, Fred Crooks, in the Los Angeles, California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jennifer graduated from Brigham Young University (BYU) with degrees in speech pathology and elementary education. After graduation, she devoted herself to raising their three children in Fair Oaks, California.
She later spent more than 30 years inspiring young minds as an elementary school teacher in the San Juan Unified School District, remembered by colleagues and students alike for her patience, creativity, and kindness.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jennifer lived her faith daily through compassion, service, and quiet acts of love toward others.
Jennifer is survived by her loving husband, Fred Crooks; her children Ryan (Laura), Sarah Hecht (Ryan), and Kyle (Brinly); and eleven cherished grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as Granny. She is also survived by her brothers Jeffrey (Karen) and Jonathan (Christa) Dunn, and was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Rachelle Dunn.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7950 Hazel Ave, Orangevale, CA. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Park on Greenback Lane.
The Crooks family deeply appreciates the love and support extended by friends and loved ones during this difficult time.
