Jesse Casas Obituary

Jesse Araiza Casas, 79, also lovingly remembered as Grandpa, started his journey in life on March 19th, 1942. He was born at Los Angeles County General Hospital (yes, the same one on T.V.) to Manuel Morale Casas and Jessie Araiza Casas.

During his life he did many things, but driving trucks seemed to be his calling. He delivered a variety of products, from candy to pizza products. He was always sure to come home with some goodies that happened to “fall off the truck.” The movie candy, bagged popcorn, and pepperoni sticks seemed endless to his children!

He was passionate about music, he listened to it everywhere - on the radio while driving or just sitting in his recliner. He listened to a range of genres, from Sarah Brightman to Frank Sinatra. He loved watching his favorite musicals; My Fair Lady, The Phantom of The Opera, Hello Dolly, & West Side Story (just to name a few). He shared this love of music with his family, unbeknownst to him this would become his legacy. By sharing this part of himself, Jesse engrained music into the daily lives of his children and their children. Proudly he leaves behind music lovers, music that was a part of him, is now a part of them, deep within their hearts and souls.

Jesse was also a Maker of Pizza. Every Friday night, he made it for his family, and always made it with the key ingredient: Love. He enjoyed the simplicity of act and how it bought the family together. The weekly tradition continued long after his children moved away and carried it to their children. It wasn’t just about the pizza, though – he would always share stories of his encounters with his customers, sprinkling life lessons throughout and sharing values with them as he went along.

He retired to Fair Oaks, where he spent the rest of his days with his loyal “pups”, his kids, and his grandkids. Jesse Araiza Casas passed away on November 2nd, 2021.

He was truly an “Unforgettable” man who “Did it His Way,” who is now “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” reminding his family that “Tonight” is the “Time to Say Goodbye.” He also reminds us to never forget “What a Wonderful World” we live in, and though we may be sad, he will always live on in our “Memory.”

He is survived by his children: Doreen Casas Bell, Maria Ellena Casas-Murray, Jesus Rudolpho Casas, Christopher Joseph Casas; sons-in-law - Arthur Steven Bell, Dan Casas-Murray; daughters-in-law – Bernice Casas, Betty Casas; grandchildren – Vincent Patrick Chavez, Arthur Steven Bell Jr, Megan Renee Bell, Alexandria Allison Bell, Madison Victoria Bell, Christopher Cruz Casas, Brenden Casas, Jesse Andrew Casas, Damian Joseph Casas, Daniel Anthony Casas, Alexander Matthew Blodgett, Ariana Kristina Casas, Sophie Elizabeth Casas; grand daughter-in-law – Zsofi Bell; great grandchildren: Payton Rae Chavez and Mia Anna Marie Bell.
