JoAnn Sours

JoAnn was born in Waterloo, Iowa to parents Raymond and Gladys (Moran) Sours. She was blessed with a large extended family that included SIBLINGS: Robert Sours (Maria Melendez) and Mary Elaine (Sours) Brice (Harry). NIECES: Karen Sours, Sharon (Sours) Caudill, Janatha (Brice) Shaw, and Julie (Brice) Russell. NINE Great nieces and nephews, and FIVE Great Great Nieces and Nephews. As a young girl she moved with her family from Iowa, to Oakland, CA where she attended Catholic Schools: St Cyrll's Grammar School and Bishop O'Dowd High School. 

JoAnn loved education, and went on to receive her Secretarial Administration Certificate from Armstrong College in Berkeley, CA. She then continued her academic outlook going on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree from Cal State University, Hayward, CA. 

Finishing college, JoAnn joined the Medical Field, working with Dr. David Jensen, in San Leandro, CA as Secretary/Administrator until Doctor retired. This promoted a move to Citrus Heights, CA, home to JoAnn's extended family. Soon after, going back to work at Dignity Health in Carmichael, CA as a Billing Administrator for the Cardiology Department. JoAnn retired in 2020 to enjoy a relaxing life with family and friends. JoAnn passed away March 8th 2023 at Mercy San Juan Hospital with family at her side. She was a lady of grace and integrity, and will be missed by all. 

A Visitation will be held in her honor at Price Funeral Chapel, Citrus Heights, CA on March 24, 2023 from  5pm - 6pm, with a Rosary commencing at 6pm.
