John Leavitt Obituary

John Allen Leavitt, born on August 8, 1949, in St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on May 22, 2024, in Roseville, California, at the age of 74. John was a proud member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade, known as "The Herd," serving for 4 years. His dedication and service to his country were commendable.

Throughout his life, John held various jobs, including serving as an OmniTrans bus driver, Lockheed worker, and pursuing different welding jobs. Welding was not just a career for him; it was a passion that he continued to pursue even in his later years.

John's personal life was anchored by his marriage to his beloved wife, Kathy, on November 26, 1970. Together, they found peace and happiness in Rye Patch, Nevada, where they retired 17 years ago to enjoy the mountainous landscape. John enjoyed boating, fishing, and capturing the beauty of wildlife through photography. His love for nature and photography led to his work being displayed at the Humboldt River Ranch association.

John will be remembered for his humor, strong-minded nature, and his role as a loving father and grandfather. He was a hard worker, always willing to help others, and his kindness touched the lives of many.

John is survived by his loving wife Kathy, his daughter Jaimie, his son John, 5 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

His legacy of service, dedication, and love for his family will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
