“Jack” Donohue was born in San Francisco in 1943 and passed away in Carmichael on August 28th, 2020. He owned and operated Donohue Trucking for over 35 years specializing in heavy haul transportation and oversize loads; he was an expert in the industry often moving equipment that few others could successfully transport, and was the one to call when others needed advice or help – he would freely and generously share his extensive and inexhaustible knowledge. When he retired the big truck, he began consulting and working with Gerlinger Steel & Supply Company, which he enjoyed up to and through his cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In addition to his love of work, Jack enjoyed camping, hiking, and Jeeping with friends and family, sprint car races, antique truck and tractor shows, and he also had a very special interest in steam and diesel locomotives.
Jack is survived by his wife Marlys, daughters Kimberly (Ron) Mazzone and Kristine Donohue, sister Jean, and brother Jerry. Beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend; he will be greatly missed.
Private graveside services will be held on September 9, 2020.
