Josie was born March 10th, 1964 to Tony and Lily Navarro in San Jose, CA. She passed away on December 19th, 2023, at her home in Roseville, CA, after a brave battle with cancer. In 2021, Josie faced an unforeseen challenge when she was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer. She confronted it with grace and courage and maintained her determination to fight the illness in order to continue to watch her grandsons grow. She found solace and strength in the support of her family, friends, and faith in God. She took up painting to pass her time, and by late 2022, was starting to begin her new life in remission. She looked forward to beginning the next chapter of travel and love and was beginning to thrive with her new adventures. God had other plans when she found her cancer had returned in September 2023, and metastasized in multiple locations with remarkable speed.
Josie loved watching cooking shows and testing her recipes out for the family. She enjoyed watching football, especially her San Francisco 49ers. She was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend, but her most cherished role was that of a loving mother and grandmother. Her family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her children Victoria McCoy, Kristina Green, and Al Olivas Jr, son-in-law Nick Green, and grandchildren Ace and Otto Green, father Tony Navarro, brother Tony Navarro Jr, sister Angela Quevedo, and nieces and nephews Alonso Jr., Matthew, and Sabrina. Let us remember Josie not for the pain she endured, but for the love she shared and impact she left on our lives. May she find eternal peace and join our loved ones including her mother Lily Navarro, and niece Maria Maggard, who joined God before her. Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 10am at Price Funeral Chapel (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95610).
