Judson Dee Tolman, of Carmichael, California, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 in his home he shared with his wife Leslie. He had been bravely battling cancer since July of 2019.
Judson was born June 10th, 1953 in Portland Oregon. He was the first child and only son of Terrell and Iris Tolman. A natural athlete since childhood, he participated in organized sports, mainly baseball and basketball. His father was his coach both on and off the field, spending many hours practicing with him. A hard worker, Judson held a variety of different jobs throughout his life. He became a jack of all trades and many of his skills were self-taught. A man of many creative ideas, he started and ran a successful mobile small engine repair business, Mobile Mower Repair.
Over the years Judson became an avid, skilled fisherman. He loved the outdoors, sports, dogs, and sweets; however, his priorities were the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his family. Almost anyone who met Judson immediately became a friend, drawn in by his charisma, kindness and incredible sense of humor. His bluntness and frank honesty were refreshing; Judson was nothing if not genuine.
Judson was a stalwart member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He willingly served in many different callings. He was well known for his selflessness and found great joy in serving others in any way he was able.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Leslie, and children Tony Tolman, Stephanie Tolman, Jennifer Kreitzberg (Miguel Villafranco), Josh Kreitzberg (Christina), Leya Byington; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother, Iris Tolman, and three of his sisters; LeeAnn Wankasky (Dave), Sharon Haner, and Elaine Green (Eric) as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Terrell Tolman and youngest sister Susan McDonnell. Judson was a wonderful mentor to many people. He is greatly loved and will be missed by many.
Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10:30am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (4125 San Juan Ave, Fair Oaks, CA 95628) with a viewing from 9am - 9:45am in the Relief Society room.
