Julie Andersen Obituary

Julie Ann Price Andersen, age 53, passed away at her home in Orangevale, California, on March 12, 2019, after a year-long battle with gallbladder cancer, which spread to her liver and abdomen. Julie was born April 3, 1965, in Logan, UT to Duane and Suzanne Price.  She is the oldest of four children, with one sister, Lori, and two brothers, Bob and Dave. She lived in Logan for 2 years while her parents finished college, then moved to Salt Lake City.  At age 6, they moved to Concord, CA, then to Fair Oaks, CA at age 12, where she attended Andrew Carnegie Middle School, Bella Vista High School and graduated from Seminary.

While in high school she taught piano lessons, was an honor student, served as student body secretary and was voted Most Talented by her senior class. She attended Brigham Young University for one year, with a leadership scholarship. During the summer after her first year at BYU, she met her future husband, Brad Andersen from Preston, ID. They were married in the Logan Temple, February 23, 1985. Julie worked as a secretary and attended American River College until she had children.

Julie is survived by her loving husband of 34 years and best friend (Brad), their three sons and one daughter: Devin (Kylee) of Plano, TX; Morgan (Crystal) of West Jordan, UT; Tyler of Provo, UT; Hannah of Rexburg, ID. Julie is also survived by 4 grandchildren Levi, Parker, Paisley, and Jane.

Julie’s greatest joy came from being a mother and homemaker. She taught her children to love one another, be kind, obedient, respectful, to pray, and to love their Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. She taught them the importance of education, encouraging them to be diligent at school and helping them with their homework. She showed her love by the time and effort she spent with them.

Julie was extremely talented and creative and used these talents in her various callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She played the piano beautifully for the ward choir, the men’s chorus, the youth, and the primary.  Her favorite calling was Primary Pianist. She learned to play the organ, after being called as the Ward Organist. She served as Stake Girls Camp Director for 4 years; as Girls Camp “Bead Lady” (charm necklaces) for 9 years; as Ward Young Women’s President, Stake Young Women’s Counselor, Relief Society President, Relief Society Counselor, Relief Society Homemaking Leader, Beehive Advisor, Primary Teacher of various ages, and Nursery Leader.  She magnified each calling, going above and beyond what was required to show them her love and to make a significant impact in the lives of those she served.

Julie had a strong testimony of the Savior, Jesus Christ. She was committed to having daily family prayer, weekly Family Home Evenings and bringing the children to church for 19 years on her own because Brad had to leave early for church meetings.  She supported Brad in his church callings by never complaining about the many hours he was away from home.
