Kathleen Marie Johnson was born on January 29th, 1981 in Auburn, California.
Attending Bowman and Placer High School, she graduated Valedictorian in 1999. Then attending Chico State University, graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2003 with a Bachelors in Mathematics.
In 2001 while attending Chico, Kathleen became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It was there at an activity in 2002 that she met her future husband Aaron. They were then later wed January 1st, 2003. Not long after they started their family... April 5th of 2005 brought them their daughter Amy, May 4th of 2007 their daughter Rebekah, August 4th of 2009 their daughter Eloise and November 2nd of 2011 their daughter Virginia.
While raising their daughters, Kathleen created a beautiful homestead. She loved permaculture and kept a year-round garden, had livestock ranging from poultry to goats and cattle, even maintaining a daily milking operation. But her true joy was in teaching her children. In 2015 she began homeschooling them which she maintained well into her trials with ALS…
After 3 years of struggle but surrounded by compassion and care, Kathleen passed peacefully the night of May 16th, 2021 in Auburn, California.
She is survived by her loving husband, four children, five siblings, and her parents Charles and Mary Minton. While a graveside service is scheduled for 3:00pm Friday, May 21st at Johnsville Cemetery in Johnsville, California, a local memorial will also be held 3pm Saturday May 22nd, at the LDS Chapel located on 1255 Bell Rd in Auburn, California.
