Kenneth Anderson

Kenneth Anderson passed away on January 16, 2023 in Roseville, California at the age of 67.  Ken was preceded in death by his father, Robert Anderson, and his mother, Doris Anderson.  He is survived by his wife Kimberly, brothers Robert and Charles, his sister Sandra, his son Michael, his daughters Katherine, Nicole, and Rachel, his sons-in-law Matthew and Kevin, his daughter-in-law Crystal, and his grandchildren Brooke, Daniel, and Susannah.

Ken loved his family and loved his life.  He was born in Oakland, Nebraska in 1955 and it was there that he became attached, for better or for worse, to University of Nebraska football.  During his childhood, his family left behind the verdant oceans of corn for the Central Valley town of Delano.  After graduating from Delano High School and finishing two years at Bakersfield College, Ken transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.  It was there he met the love of his life and future travel partner, Kimberly Coleman.  Ken graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Transportation Engineering and took an engineering job in Elko, Nevada.  Ken convinced Kim that northeast Nevada was the same as the Central California coast, and she followed him to Elko.  They were married in 1978 and after a brief stop over in Reno, the family moved to Loomis in 1982.  Ken and Kim remained in Loomis for over 40 years, raising their four children there.  Ken stayed involved in the local community and actively supported and attended his children’s wrestling tournaments, band spectaculars, and softball games. When he became a grandfather, he was a regular attendee at Brooke and Danny’s high level 8 and under T-ball and soccer games.  These games were a welcome distraction from the underwhelming performance of his beloved Nebraska Cornhusker football team. Despite Nebraska’s slide into college football irrelevance, Ken remained a loyal fan.  

Ken will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He had a dry sense of humor and loved throwing smartass comments into a conversation.  He will be missed.
