Kenneth Duane Goodwin was born Nov 29th, 1949 in Sayre, Pennsylvania. He passed away peacefully on Nov. 20th, 2025 in Lake Oswego, OR just shy of his 76th birthday. He was raised in Wyalusing, Pennsylvania. His parents were Elton Hulbert Goodwin and Evelyn Almeda Wakeley. He was blessed enough to have 2 brothers and 3 sisters. In Ken's college years his Alma mater and love was Penn State University. But finished the last semester at Sacramento State University, Sacramento CA graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Ken served as a member of the armed forces- Air Force for four years as Security Police.
After his service he joined the Deputy Sheriff's of Sacramento, CA. He married his first wife and had a son, Christopher. Later they divorced and he was blessed enough to meet a wonderful woman, Carrie Lynn Fox. Carrie with her children, Jeremy, Sara, and Kristina and Ken with Chris, married and formed a family. Later on they were blessed to have two wonderful daughters together, Amber and Rachael.
Ken retired from the Sacramento Deputy Sheriff's. Later, he then became the Director of Public Safety for the Portland Community College System in Oregon. He worked in this position for many years. Upon retiring from this position Ken and his wife Carrie served missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were blessed to serve the Lord in this capacity by working with the California, Sacramento Mission and Virginia, Richmond Mission. Kenneth Duane Goodwin is survived by his wife Carrie, children Jeremy, Sara, Kristina, Chris, Amber, and Rachael, and 15 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at 2pm, with a viewing from 1pm - 2pm, all at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (8056 Oak Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA 95610). Interment on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11am at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA 95620). Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
