Larry Charles Wight, 78, of Sacramento, CA, passed away on January 8th 2022, at his Citrus Heights home, surrounded by his collections of books, military figurines and various pieces of art that he loved. Larry was born on November 20th, 1943 to parents William "Bill" Wight (a professional baseball player) and Janice Wight. An only child, Larry Received his Masters in Political Science from UC Davis, eventually landing a teaching position at Sierra College Community School at the young age of 24. Larry would teach hundreds of students over his 32-year career, receiving 5 "Teacher of the Year" awards. Larry also found a passion for martial arts, earning a 3rd degree black belt in Kempo, a 1st degree black belt in Judo, and a purple sash in Karate.
Larry fell in love with and married the love of his life-Bettie Jane Naughten, until her premature passing in 2007. Larry is survived by his daughter Susan Wight-Walters, son-in-law Bill Walters Jr. son Bill Wight, daughter-in-law Alison and grandchildren Liam "Li" and Ainsley.
The family would like to thank Visiting Angels for their care, and the men/women at Citrus Heights Fire Station #21 for their care and service over the years.
