Leon served in the US Army during World War II. He served as a scout and was in on the invasion of the Philippines. His service time was three years when he was honorably discharged after earning his third Purple Heart. He served his country honorably and faithfully and in doing so saved countless lives. He and Nola served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Auckland, New Zealand for a year and a half. He also served as a Bishop for many years including being a Transient Bishop. He helped and served so many people and affected so many lives. Leon and Nola loved to travel and they have been in every state in the union including many other countries.
