Linda Sue Subramanian (Danielson), 76, of Fair Oaks, California, passed away on August 17, 2024.
She was born in Emmett, Idaho on June 13, 1948 to John Albert Danielson and Josephine Sarah Danielson (Moulton). She grew up on a farm there. After graduating from Emmett High School, she pursued her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in German from The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She worked as an English teacher in Munich, Germany and Vienna, Austria before returning to the states to complete her education. While in school, she met her husband, Mani Subramanian, who she married on July 25, 1978 in Houston, Texas. They moved to India where they welcomed two children, Rajendran John and Anjuli Andrea. Her time there further enriched her love for Indian food, music, people, and culture. In 1983, they moved to Sacramento, California and welcomed their third child, Ravinder Danielson.
Linda had many lifelong interests that included music, books, the arts, animals, and plants. Her interest in music ranged from classical to hard rock and she loved to go to concerts and collect CD’s. Having been a farm girl, she grew up with cows, horses, and chickens. Her love for animals continued throughout her life with pet dogs, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. She was an expert at growing African violets and at one point had over 100 of them. Linda traveled the world many times over and particularly loved visiting India and Germany. As a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she loved doctrine, the scriptures, and the temple. Despite having multiple sclerosis for 50 years, she was always positive, cheerful, and an inspiration to everyone around her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Jean Josephine Edlefsen (Harris) and Sharon Marie Borup (Meyer), and is survived by her husband, Mani, and their three children, Rajendran; Anjuli; Ravinder and his wife Amanda Kaitlyn Subramanian (Kilduff), and their son Desmond Eegan Subramanian.
