Lisa Gene Lawson

Lisa Gene Lawson, age 64, passed away on August 19, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on October 6, 1961, in Sacramento, CA, to Eugene and Merle Ann Munger.

Lisa graduated from Oakmont High School in Roseville in 1979. She was an exquisitely gifted singer and dancer who graced anyone blessed enough to have witnessed her talents upon the stage. She worked in the musical theater industry, where her talents earned her a four-year theatrical scholarship offer to Brigham Young University. Lisa’s talents led her to perform at numerous renowned venues, including the Playmill Theatre in Yellowstone and the Hale Centre Theatre in Provo, UT. While raising her children as a wonderful stay-at-home mom, Lisa periodically taught ballet lessons from her home. Lisa then attended Western Career College to become a dental assistant. She excelled in this field and was quickly offered a position with Delta Dental. Lisa was a skilled seamstress and cook who enjoyed arts and crafts.

Lisa and Paul C. Lawson were both members of the Roseville, California Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They became acquainted at youth church dances and developed their relationship over time. They were married on July 8, 1982, at the Oakland Temple. They were blessed with four beautiful children: Tara, Michelle, Carl, and Kirk. Though their marriage later ended, Lisa’s life remained anchored in her deep love and devotion as a mother.

Lisa was an immensely loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. Her compassionate heart, thoughtful mind, and authentically kind spirit were overwhelmingly apparent to everyone who knew her. Those who crossed her path felt heard, special, and loved. For these reasons, and many more, Lisa was an extraordinary woman who will be missed by many.

Lisa is preceded in death by her mother, Merle Ann (Munger McConochie Barrus); her father, Eugene Munger; and her daughter, Michelle Lawson Coutlee.

She is survived by her children, Tara Lawson, Carl (Emily) Lawson, and Kirk Lawson; her grandchildren, Sierra and Cole Lawson; her sisters Lori (Dan) Ordway, Leslie Sullivan, Catherine (Tony) Laplante, Tina (Andy) Fowler, and Nicole (Dan) Gray; and her brothers Eugene (Margaret) Munger II and Frank Munger.

The viewing will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Price Funeral Chapel in Citrus Heights, CA.

Her celebration of life will be held immediately following, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the same location.
