Lorena June Massey

Lorena June Massey was born in Dill City, Oklahoma on May 30th 1931 to Wesley and Eunice Maloy. Her Father and mother moved to her grandfather’s farm in Delhi, Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl years. After several failed crop seasons, her father moved the family, which now included her sister Betty, to Southern California. Her brother James was born in the Los Angelos area.

June met Clifton Massey in a little church in Delano, California when she was fifteen. He had just come back from Korea at the end of WW2. They married soon after when she was sixteen and he was nineteen. After three children, Diana, Elaine and Allen, they moved to the Sacramento area and had two more children, Brent and Laura. Clifton and June Massey lived in the same house in  Citrus Heights, California since 1959 until Clifton’s death in November 24th, 2021 at the age of 94. They had been married 75 years.

June came to live in Texas with her youngest daughter Laura and her husband Al her remaining year of life.  June is preceded in death by her husband Clifton Massey who died November 24, 2021, her younger sister Betty and her younger brother James Maloy.  She is survived by her children Diana Eichelburger (Chuck), Elaine Yamada (Rich), Allen Massey (Elenor), Brent Massey (Grace), Laura Prado (Al); 15 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.  Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral service on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at 10am at Faith Baptist Church (335 E. Bidwell St., Folsom, CA 95630) with interment following at 1:30pm at Sylvan Cemetery (7401 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights, CA 95610).  Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
