Lucille Blanche (Davis) Brown Mayhew, also known as Lucy, was preparing her usual late night snack when the Lord called her home peacefully on January 26, 2024, at the age of 96 in Fair Oaks, California. She was born on December 23, 1927, in Sacramento to parents Walter Humphrey and Violet Valerie Davis. She is predeceased by her parents, step-father Thaine Ferris, brothers Jerald and Donald Davis, sister-in-law Jean Davis, first husband Elmer Brown, second husband Jay Mayhew, son-in-law Michael Guinn and grandson Sean Trank.

With her first marriage to Elmer Brown, she left behind a small army of children and their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren - 119 of us. Survivors include children and spouses: Linda and Richard Eberbach, Christine and Robert Trank, Susan Guinn, David and Denise Brown, Diane and Michael Lanthier, Dennis and Linda Brown, Timothy and Veronica Brown, Laura and Jeffery Spanos, Jennifer and Alan Hargis.

 Lucy is survived by: her brother, Colonel Gene Davis (USAF, Ret), wife Judy, Nephew Christopher Davis, Niece Cynthia Davis Ridgeway; the family of brother Donald Davis, Nephew Donald Davis Jr., Niece Deborah Pimentel and their families; step-children and families from her marriage to Jay Mayhew: Lindell Rallens, Lynette Guildner, David Mayhew, and Dawne Takehara.

Throughout her life, Lucy was very active in churches in her local community; in leading youth groups, working at church camps, supporting Awana groups, hosting foreign students, and assisting wherever needed. She lately worshiped at the First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks, where she found solace and a sense of community. She could be observed writing notes on the church bulletin, in the margins of her Bible or a spare napkin in her pocket. Her faith was an integral and inseparable part of her life and; a cornerstone of her being. Her favorite acronym and collectible was FROGFully Rely On God!

 A memorial service will be held on February 20 at 10am at the First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks. The Church is located at 4401 San Juan Ave., Fair Oaks, CA. The services will be a celebration of Lucy's life and the impact she had on those around her. A reception will immediately follow at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mount Hope Bible Camp at or to the First Baptist Church of Fair Oaks at The Price Funeral Chapel in Citrus Heights, CA, is assisting the family with the arrangements.
