Madalyn Elizabeth Carranza Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Madalyn E. Carranza, who left us peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, on March 9th, 2024. But we celebrate the life of Madalyn, a woman who embodied strength, compassion, and unwavering honesty.
She was a force to be reckoned with—tough as nails yet with a heart as vast as the ocean. Though she was one of the sweetest souls, she was also unapologetically blunt, always speaking her mind with fearless honesty. She stood her ground, never backing down, and never let anyone take advantage of her or those she loved.
Madalyn dedicated her life to service, first as a graduate of the San Francisco Police Academy, where she served as a sheriff, and later working for the United States Postal Service. She carried a sense of duty and protection wherever she went, not just for her community but for anyone in need.
Her kindness knew no bounds. She was the type of person who would stop everything to help a stranger, whether it was feeding the homeless, donating to charities like St. Jude, Shriners Hospital, Marian of the Immaculate Conception, and the ASPCA, or rescuing stray animals. She carried dog and cat food with her at all times—along with plastic plates—so that no animal would go hungry under her watch. She had an undeniable soft spot for the voiceless and never turned away from those in need.
Madalyn was the proud mother of five beautiful daughters—Evelyn, Janice, Ashely, Jacklyn, Michelle. She raised them with the same strength, resilience, and deep love that defined her, teaching them the importance of loyalty, courage, and generosity.
Madalyn was also a devoted grandmother to thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She found immense joy in watching her family grow and flourish, and her legacy will live on through each of them.
She cherished creating memories; sharing treats with her loved ones enjoying a great movie, or show. She was a true movie lover, horror films were her absolute favorite, and she found joy in classic TV shows like Lost in Space, I Dream of Jeannie, The Munsters, and, The Three Stooges.
She loved capturing funny and heartfelt moments with her family and of course, in creating smiles with her practical jokes. She knew that in life it can be dark and unclear at moments, and that it is important to always remember these moments of love and joy.
For 46 years, Madalyn shared a love with her husband, Francisco M. Carranza, that was deep, enduring, and steadfast. Even now, though she is no longer physically with us, her love continues to surround him and all those she held dear.
As a devout Catholic, Madalyn lived her life guided by her faith. She found comfort in prayer, in the Virgin Mary, and took every opportunity to serve others and god.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith,
fearlessness, generosity, and an unshakable will that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. While we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that her love and light will continue to guide us all. And that she is reunited with her mother, father, grandmother, and her partner in crime Helen, her little sister.
She taught us all to stand tall, to help others without hesitation, and to never be afraid to speak the truth. She was tough, kind, bold, and beautiful—a rare soul who left an indelible impression on everyone lucky enough to know her.
Rest in peace, Madalyn. We will always cherish every moment you blessed us with, and every smile you gave us with your presence. Your light will never fade, your love will forever guide us. You will never be forgotten—you will always be a part of our hearts, where we will carry you always.
