Tim was born in Springfield, Missouri, on October 3, 1939.  He grew up in Anchorage, Alaska, and San Carlos, California.  As a young man Tim was a participant in scouting, active in his science projects, ran track in high school and was a member of DeMolay. Tim participated in Navy ROTC while at CAL intending to become a Marine Officer but upon graduation enlisted in the USAF followed by USAF OCS and Navigator training.  Tim was commissioned as a 2nd LT in the USAF in 1963.  His first assignment was to Hill AFB, Ogden, Utah, in C-124 military transports.  It was there he met his future wife, Margo.

In 1986 Tim and Margo moved from Boise, Idaho, to Fair Oaks, California, where Tim designed a home which he supervised building with his lifelong friend, Tom Hessler.  Tim was fortunate to resume rowing in a Master’s Program at Lake Natoma.   Tim rowed stroke on the crew team for 15 years winning a championship at the San Diego Crew Classic.  Tim was a founding member of the Friends of CAL Crew and a benefactor of the Marines’ Memorial Association, San Francisco, California.
