It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of our father, Mark Anders Jansson, 81, of Elk Grove, California.
“Dad,” “Pops,” “Grandpa,” "Great-Grandpa” had a heart of gold and lived a full and meaningful life marked by immense kindness, supreme generosity, and unwavering dedication and devotion to his faith and to those he loved.
Our father served the Lord by devoting his life to his Faith, his Family, and his Country. His love and service knew no bounds. Pops served as an example to all through his selflessness. From the smallest acts of kindness...a text or a phone call...to the grandest gestures...his service in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam war, formal callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, as well as serving the Elk Grove Food Bank and the Interfaith Council of Elk Grove.
He was a devoted husband to his loving wife, patient father to his children and their spouses, proud and jubilant grandfather to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as a kind and loyal friend to all.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents Einar & Ruth Jansson; Olga & Howard Mangam; and brother David Jansson.
Left to cherish his memory are his beautiful wife of 58 years, Lynda (Barrett) Jansson; his children, Lanette & Willie Masters; Laura Jansson; Leigh Ann & Mika Roland; Mark & Shannon Jansson; Lysa & Alex Turner; Matthew & Lisa Jansson; Michael & Heidi Jansson; Marie & Brent Seavers; 36 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, with 3 more on the way. He also leaves his beloved sister, Sandy Hayes and family; sister-in-law Rose Beamer-Jansson and family; and numerous special extended family members and friends.
Although we have a deep void, our hearts rejoice in the knowledge that he is in the presence of our Savior hearing the words “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” As a faithful disciple, he embodied Christ's teaching to "Love one another as I have loved thee."
We will remember him not only for the life he lived but for the way he made us feel—loved, encouraged, protected, and prepared for the next quest. We are extremely grateful for his stories, his voice, his laughter, his hugs, his council, and his ability to turn an ordinary day into something extraordinary.
We are extremely blessed, honored, and proud to have had him as our Patriarch. He was truly our Hero!! "We Love You Good Buddy, Over N' Out..."
A CELEBRATION OF DAD'S LIFE WILL BE HELD
