Marlene Ruth Seabourne (Tiemann), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on July 5, 2025, at the age of 91, with her children, Steven Seabourne and Patrice Pilon (Seabourne), at her bedside.
Born and raised by her parents, Alvin and Lydia, on a farm in Lincoln, Kansas, Marlene grew up alongside her two sisters, Elfrieda and Nora, and four brothers, Mervin, Delbert, Paul, and Robert. After graduating from high school, she attended junior college and nursing school in Hutchinson, Kansas, where she earned her nursing degree.
It was in Hutchinson that she met a dashing young U.S. Navy sailor, Frank Seabourne. They both loved to dance, and in 1955, they were married. Their children, Steve and Pat, were born in Marietta, Georgia, while Frank was working for Lockheed.
In 1959, Marlene and Frank moved to Citrus Heights, California. Marlene worked as a nurse and bookkeeper for a small medical practice in Roseville, while Frank was employed at Aerojet.
In 1967, Frank started an alternator and starter rebuilding business, AIM. Eventually, Marlene left her nursing career to take over the bookkeeping at AIM. With Marlene’s book smarts and Frank’s street smarts and drive, AIM grew and prospered.
Marlene was a wonderful cook—her pan-fried crappie dinners during the family’s annual fishing vacations at Clear Lake were legendary.
She loved knitting doilies, crocheting afghan blankets for friends and family, and playing Fantasy Golf with her son, Steve. Marlene had a gift for laughter and a knack for making others laugh. She’s been described as “the nicest lady in the whole wide world,” and she will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Price Funeral Chapel in Citrus Heights on July 17th at 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral ceremony at Fair Oaks Cemetery. After the ceremony, the family welcomes you to gather at Frank and Marlene’s home, 7637 Vasos Way, Fair Oaks.
