Martha Abell Obituary

SACRAMENTO - Martha Mae Jeppson Abell, 68, graduated this life experience Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at home of natural causes. She was born December 16th, 1953 in Coalville, Utah, daughter of Morris Leon and Ella Mae Lemon Jeppson. She married Dana Roberts in 1971 in Logan, UT. They were later divorced. Several years later she  moved to Arizona had a meaningful relationship with Richard Villa. 

Martha graduated from Skyview High School and later went on to obtain her Nursing license from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. She loved her profession; helping people for over 25 years, in multiple facets of care. Martha was a recovered alcoholic, sober since December 8, 2000; she helped many people in their sobriety. She also managed the Recovery Connection in Alaska for several years. Martha moved to Alaska in 1993 with her sons, following her niece Dorothy Jeppson. Her daughters moved up a few years later. She spent 23 years and made many wonderful memories in the great state of Alaska with her family. Martha moved to California in 2016, shortly after her daughter Emily, to retire in warm weather. Martha was an animal lover and had several beloved pets as companions throughout life. Martha loved the outdoors and felt a connection with God there. Her love and testimony of God, our father, and Jesus Christ, she shared in every opportunity. Martha was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints. 

Surviving are her two daughters and two sons: Mollie Roberts Kent of Bountiful, UT; Emily (Brent) Bigelow of Lincoln, CA; Garrett Lee Roberts of Salt Lake City, UT; Cody (Jennifer) Villa, Sterling, AK. Martha was known as “Granny” and survived ten grandchildren who loved her dearly. She also had two great grandchildren. Surviving siblings are: Alda Judy, UT; John Jeppson, ID; Julie (Ron) Harward, UT; along with many nieces and nephews who had a personal connection to “Aunt Martha” and benefited from the life experiences and wisdom she had to share. 

Preceded in death by her father and mother Morris Leon and Ella Mae Jeppson; her son, Clay Dana Roberts; and her siblings Jared Leon, Orville Otto, and Jacob Hans Jeppson. 

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, June 25th, 2022, from 11-3pm MST in North Ogden Utah. Chapel address: 626 East 2600 North in North Ogden, UT.

Martha was cremated and her ashes will be scattered in Alaska at a date TBD.
