Mary Ann Harris (Proctor) 86, peacefully passed away on December 12th, 2020 with her family by her side at home. Mary was born on December 2nd 1934 in Liverpool, England, and the daughter of the late Catherine and Arthur Proctor.
She is survived by her husband Willie Harris Jr. of 57 years, brother John and Joan Proctor of Liverpool England, her daughter(s) Suzanne Harris (deceased), Pamela Harris, Deborah Bernard, Denise Bogan, and son Anthony Harris (Kathryn Hice). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Darian and Hasmik Harris, Jarrett Harris, Lillie, Michael Jr Marion, and Matthew. Let us not forget her many relatives and friends in Liverpool, Manchester, and our beloved family in Wales whom she dearly loved.
Mary, truly loved her family and was so thankful for the life her and Willie have lived together. Caring for Willie following kidney transplant surgery the past 24yrs. She was also very passionate about her love and support of children of St Judes. Her visit to the St Judes campus was absolutely amazing. "I love to see the faces of the "little ones" light up when given unexpected gifts during a very difficult time in their young lives".
For Mary, volunteering to help her friends in any way possible was something she took great pride in, whether it was taking friends shopping or to appointments, to dropping kids off for practice or events, she always made time.
After retiring from her 25 year career at Weinstock's as a Data entry Analyst Mary decided to travel with old friends from Liverpool across the states. She enjoyed attending many CHS sporting events and loved all genres of music and learning the latest dance moves from daughter Suzanne. However, nothing could compare to first arriving in the US and spending time in the kitchen with her close friend Geraldine Caldwell learning to cook "soul food". It was as If she was raised in the south, said Gerry. Yes, Mary could adapt to any environment and welcomed the challenge. As did most war brides from England supporting families while husbands were abroad off to war.
Our family would like to send heartfelt thanks to the entire staff at Snowline Hospice for their love, care and support. A special thanks too long time friends Joyce Kellett, of Orlando Florida and Muriel Gants of Rancho Cordova for helping care and continuous support for our mother. We would also like to thank Price Funeral Home for supporting our family through this most difficult time. Mom will truly be missed.
