Michael James Bohachef

Michael James Bohachef, age 73, of Citrus Heights, California, passed away on July 1, 2026. He was born on February 17, 1953, the oldest of four children born to Bonnie and the late James Bohachef.

Michael dedicated his life to service, country and community. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 21 years, retiring with honor. Following his military career, Michael transitioned to the Folsom-Cordova Unified School District, spending the remainder of his professional life building character and confidence in young people as a dedicated Physical Education teacher. He was deeply passionate about helping his students discover their own strengths and instilling lifelong values of teamwork and sportsmanship.

A devout and longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Michael lived his faith through his immense generosity and commitment to taking care of his family.

He is survived by his loving mother, Bonnie, his younger brothers, Jay (Linda) and Brian (Kelly), nephews Jason Bohachef and Joshua Fortenberry (Shelby), niece Kristen Bohachef, and step nieces Justine Goodman and Lauren Benenati. He was preceded in death by his father, James, and his younger sister, Renee Fortenberry.

Friends are invited to join in celebrating Mike’s life on Friday, July 10, 2026, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 8056 Oak Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA 95610.  The viewing will commence at 9 AM followed by the funeral service at 10 AM.  

Interment with military honors will take place at a later date at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada.  Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
