Michael Dean Miller was born on June 12, 1944 in Schenectady, New York and passed away on February 27, 2021 in Granite Bay, California. He began his service in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1971. He married Jamie Conkling in 1971 and had five children. He worked for Disneyland in Anaheim, California and then relocated to Orlando, Florida to help open DisneyWorld. He obtained his B.A. in English from the University of Central Florida and then began his 40-year career in Sacramento, California in commercial insurance. Mike was best known for making others laugh - especially his nieces, nephews and grandkids, his love of reading, fishing and sailing, his passion for chess, golf and the Boy Scouts, his commitment to the gospel as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 50 years and his engagement in the local community. Michael is survived by his children Ryan Miller (Lyndsey), Seth Miller (Kristina), Kelly Barnes (Brandon), Ian Miller (Elisabeth), and Alex Miller (Karolyn), 23 grandchildren and his sisters, Pam Shoemaker, Sue Cline and his brother, Frank Miller. A funeral service will be conducted in accordance with Covid-19 governmental restrictions on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10:30am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (3354 Margaret Drive, Loomis, California) with a viewing commencing at 9:30am.
