Myrl Jenkins Obituary

On Thursday, February 18, 2021,  Myrl Heywood Jenkins passed away at the age of 92. Myrl was  born on March 7, 1928 in Panguitch , Utah to loving parents Leland DeLong Heywood and Marie Evans Heywood. Myrl started working when she was sixteen.  Her favorite job was working as a civilian for the military. She then worked many years for the Division of Highways (Caltrans). She was a parent to a son and a daughter.

 Myrl served as president of Women in Construction and Business and Professional Women. She was also  an active participant in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved to read and was very intelligent. Myrl was known for her wonderful sense of humor.  She loved to laugh and to make people laugh. She had many friends. Her main goal in life was to have children. She was a devoted mother who taught her children to work hard, be kind, to apologize and to never gossip.

 Myrl is preceded by her parents, her husband Larry Jenkins, her sisters Florence Middlemas , Jean Marie Tueller,  Ludean Heywood and her brother Frank L. Heywood . She is survived by her sister, Helen Davis, her son Leland Heywood Celestre (Stacey) , her daughter Carol Gullion Horst (Lincoln}),  and her five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

 A gravesite service was conducted at Fair Oaks Cemetery on February 26, 2021.
