It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Nathan Cameron Doyel, aged 83, on November 21, 2025.
Born in Reedley, California, on June 3, 1942, to Nathan and Violet Doyel, Cameron was one of five children and the only son among four sisters. He is survived by his sister Sharon and was preceded in death by his sisters Nona, Gwen, and Nadine.
Cameron is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna; his eight children—Cindy, Nathan, Sara, Kimberly, Mordecai, Sasha, Clara, and Joseph; seven grandchildren—Steven, Charity, Christian, Rachel, Matthew, Karina, and Charlie; and seven great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. He is also remembered by numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish his kindness, humor, and warmth.
A man of deep faith, Cameron was actively involved in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He volunteered in various roles within his congregation and at the Sacramento Temple. His passion for ancestral research inspired him to dedicate countless hours to expanding the online database that helps families discover and preserve their heritage.
Music was woven into the fabric of Cameron’s life. A gifted singer, he performed with the Sacramento Choral Society, the Sacramento Light Opera, the Music Circus, The Broadway Series, and his Church Choir for many years. His beautiful voice touched the hearts of many, and he shared his love of music generously with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Cameron was also an avid lover of wildlife, especially birds. Known for rescuing and nursing injured animals back to health, he instilled in his family a profound respect for nature. His commitment to service extended to his advocacy for blood donation. Cameron was deeply proud of the significant amount of blood he donated during his lifetime and displayed his blood donation plaques with honor.
Professionally, Cameron spent more than four decades in the land development industry. As a respected land consultant, he contributed his expertise to numerous well-known projects and buildings throughout Sacramento. His integrity, dedication, and meticulous approach earned him the admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Cameron’s greatest legacy is the love, humor, compassion, and values he passed on to his family. His influence will continue to live on in the generations that follow.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, December 6th. Please contact the family for further details regarding the time and location.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Wildlife Care Association (wildlifecareassociation.com), reflecting Cameron’s lifelong love for animals and nature. Another meaningful way to honor Cameron is by donating blood, a cause he championed throughout his life.
He was loved beyond words, and will be missed beyond measure.
