Ronald Hiett Obituary

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our beloved hero, husband, father, and mentor Ron Hiett. After a 3 year battle with Leukemia he passed away peacefully on 7/8/18, surrounded by him family and in great comfort. He was a fighter until the very end and he will be sorely missed.

Ron was born in Etna, CA in July of 1952 to parents Glenn and Theadora Hiett. Ron joined the Army in July of 1972 and served until December of 1975 when he was honorably discharged. While serving in the Army he met and married his only love Monika. The two were married in 1973 and moved from Germany back to the States.

After serving in the military Ron attended Shasta College and BYU. Later he worked as a General Contractor, a coach to all his children’s sporting teams and lived every day to serve those around him. His legacy of generosity, kindness, patience and his willingness to always mend a “broken wing” will always be remembered. His smile would always light up a room and instantly make people feel comfortable with him. His giant bear hugs were a thing to be treasured. If you knew him you loved him and he loved you. His children and grandchildren were his greatest treasures and he took great pride in them. Ron loved to hunt and fish and play pinochle. He was an avid San Francisco Giants and Oakland Raiders fan.

Ron, the patriarch of the Hiett family, is survived by his wife Monika, sons Christopher (wife Carolynn) and Steven (wife Amy) and daughters Wendy, Allison (husband Devorian), Desiree. His grandchildren Jaiden, Collin, Elijah, Kendall, Kalani, Mary, Trinity, Dominik, Kaysen, Aria, Kylea, Ruby, and Amari. His mother Theodora Hiett and siblings Richard, Susan, Alisa, Roger, and Teresa. He preceded in death by his Father Glenn Hiett and grandson Seeley Hiett.

Thank you to all the caregivers, physicians and nurses for their relentless efforts to help him during this hard time. A special thank you to our mom, Monika, his beautiful wife, who spend every day taking care of him and supporting him during this journey.  Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (1155 Liberty Lane Lincoln, CA 95648) on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 11AM, with the visitation starting at 9AM.  He will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.  Preceding the services family and friends are welcome to join us for a celebration of Ron’s life at the church.  PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (916-725-2109), directors.
