Ruth IIene Brooks

Ruth Brooks, was born in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Gertie Spencer and John Oliver Brooks. Ruth passed away in Ogden, Utah from congestive heart failure.

Ruth is preceded in death by her siblings Frieda Matthews, Jeannette (Susan) Brooks, Donald Brooks, and John Clifford Brooks, as well as her son John Arthur Ladyman.

She is survived by her sister Sharon McGovern, her children Skipper Ladyman, Debra Ladyman, Dianne Ladyman, as well as nieces and nephews Steven Mathews, Michael Mathews, Kathrine Matthews, John McGovern, Eileen Parades, and Curtis McGovern.

Ruth was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She worked as nurse for 30 years where her compassionate, loving, and nurturing nature blessed countless individuals. Her quick (and sometimes sharp) whit and infectious smile could easily light up the darkest room. Ruth always thought of others before herself. A blessing and example to others, her selflessness planted seeds of kindness and giving in others and will continue long after she passed. 

Proverbs 3:27 "Do not withhold good from those to whom you should give it. If it is within your power to help".

Our beloved Ruth's wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Ruth was surrounded by her lovely family when she passed away. Though we are saddened by Ruth's absence, we are comforted with the knowledge she is in a better place, and we will see her again soon. 

Ruth's family wishes to thank Hidden Valley Assisted Living and South Davis Home Health and Hospice for their loving, around-the-clock care and support.

Family and friends are welcome to attend the visitation on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 12:30-1:30PM at Price Funeral Chapel, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights and are invited to attend the graveside service at 2:00PM at East Lawn Sierra Hills Memorial Park, 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento. Face covering are required at the visitation.
