SANDRA LEE MAINS was born December 8, 1943 to Vivian Claire (Mitts) and H.L. (Bill) Mains in Cincinnati, Ohio and passed away unexpectedly on April 28, 2021 in Sacramento, California.
SANDY was the second of five children in this southern Ohio family. She attended classes at St Bernadette Mission School then graduated from Amelia High School. She worked hard and was employed as a machinist at Powell Valve Company in Cincinnati for several years before suffering an injury.
She suffered constant, ongoing pain and endured numerous spine and leg surgeries without complaint or the loss of her personal spirit. She loved to camp and fish. She was a life-long fan of The Big Red Machine, the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. Sandy was an engaging, loving, kind, grateful and unselfish individual with any and every person she met.
Sandy has enjoyed living in Sacramento, near her brother Bill, for over 20 years. She frequently volunteered to assist in programs that assisted other disabled individuals.
Sandy is predeceased by her parents, a younger brother Michael and sister Andrea. She is survived by an older brother Robert, a younger brother William, numerous nieces and nephews and her friend and care-giver Mary Ann.
A prayer service will be conducted Tuesday, May 4th, 1-to-2 pm at Bayside Granite Bay to honor her life and memory. An interment will be scheduled later this year in Cincinnati.
