Shirley Joyce Brusby

Shirley Joyce (Ratcliffe) Brusby 90 years old passed away in her sleep on March 15, 2024 at her home in Rocklin, Ca.

Shirley was born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 23, 1933, and lived there until she relocated to Sacramento in 1952 along with her family. She is the daughter of Frederick Ratcliffe of England, and also Gertrude Blanche (Bradley)Ratcliffe also of England, both relocated to Rhode Island at a young age. Shirley married Robert Brusby (Bob) in 1952 while he was in the Air Force. They then moved to Ft Lauderdale, Fl until Bob’s separation from the Air Force in 1953.

They settled in Sacramento where they had four children. Her son Robert pre deceased her in 2021. She is survived by her children Debra Lindsay (Jeff) of Citrus Heights, Mark Brusby (Julia) of Folsom, and Cheryl Garfield (DJ)of Rhode Island. Shirley had 15 grandchildren, Sean (deceased Oct 2023), Chris, Jason, Elisa, Troy, Breanna, Heather, Megan, Steven, Justin, Tyler, Tamee, Karyn, Garrett and Trevor. She was also the great grandmother of 31. She is also survived by her nieces Nancy (Bill), Judy, Cindy and nephews David (Barbara), and Herb.

A celebration of Life will be held for Shirley on April 28, 2024 at Johnson Springview Park in Rocklin, from 12:30-4:00
