Stacy Ann Taylor

Stacy Ann Taylor passed away on June 14, 2024.  She was taken by a particularly aggressive cancer that was only diagnosed late last year.  Born September 11, 1977, she was 46 years old.  Stacy was an incredibly unique individual who managed a number of challenges throughout her life including severe vision loss and a public-school education in the California suburbs of the 1980s and 90s (Clovis, Chino, and Salinas).

Stacy was the youngest of four siblings who demanded a lot of attention, and she may have been neglected a little.  Even so, she remained an important and integral part of her family until the end of her life.  Stacy loved all the children in the family, and everyone’s pets.  Stacy was a consistent and appreciated participant at every family gathering that anyone can remember.

Stacy was very intelligent and had a memory that functioned on a different level.  Her ability to manage information was impressive to everyone and frankly something we all took for granted.  She could recall the most obscure facts from decades past and was often called on to do so by her siblings.  She was particularly handy to know in the days before smart phones.

Stacy loved Disney and she loved to visit Disneyland.  Demonstrating a confidence that many of us found admirable she would often take trips to the park by herself.  Stacy loved comedy and she loved to laugh.  She often traveled to see her favorite comedians perform and was sad to miss a show near the end of her life.

Stacy was an excellent student growing up, and was a lifelong learner.  She played the piano and was a voracious reader.  Stacy earned an Associate of Arts degree in Behavioral Science, but she didn’t make a big deal out of it, preferring the humility of a common existence to the glory of the spotlight.  Stacy spent nearly two decades in state service as an employee for the State of California, serving in several positions at various agencies.  She received several promotions during these years.

Stacy was preceded in death by the meanest, angriest cat any of us ever knew, which Stacy loved with her whole heart.  Stacy is survived by almost everyone who loved her, including a solid community of friends, her parents, Lynda and Kelly Taylor, siblings Jenny, Jon and Mike, and a literal plethora of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.  She was loved and she will be greatly missed.  Her absence will be felt by all.  We never knew anyone else like her, and we never will.
