Steven Charles Nelson passed away peacefully in his Lord Jesus Christ on July 19, 2026. Steven was born in Everett Washington to Charles and Ilena Nelson on June 9, 1945. Steven is survived by his beloved wife Maureen of 51 years. He is greatly missed by his children Jason Nelson, Matthew Nelson (Kerri), Paul Nelson (Cindy), and Stephanie Winston (Michael) and his precious grandchildren, Elizabeth, Meghan, Paxton, and Josselyn.

Many years of his life were spent living in California where he graduated from Sunnyvale High School. He later joined the Navy during the Vietnam war. Following his service, he worked as a technical writer for Kaiser Aerospace before graduating from Oregon Institute of Technology with a Bachelors in Allied Health with an emphasis in radiology. Later he graduated from Grants Pass College with an Associate Degree of Science in electrical engineering. During this time he started NelTec Medical Engineering inventing and manufacturing a patient support system used in radiology. He was a member and retired from both IBEW 340 and University of California Davis in medical radiology.

A devoted follower of Christ, he lived his life with unwavering faith and a servant’s heart, always seeking to honor God in all he did. His love for the Lord was evident through his kindness, compassion, and dedication to serving others. He found great joy in sharing the Gospel and living out his faith through acts of service and encouragement. Though he will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior, whom he faithfully served throughout his life.

There will be a memorial to celebrate the life of Steven at First Baptist Church of Rancho Cordova, 10720 Coloma Rd, Rancho Cordova CA 95670 on August 8, 2026 at 10:00am (reception to follow).
