Susan Blanche Field Obituary
Susan Blanche Field (78) arrived in Heaven after a sudden stroke took her from her earthly home on February 23, 2023.
Sue was born in Chicago Illinois on July 10th, 1944. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1962 and attended College at Central Michigan University, where she studied Elementary education. She gave birth to her son, David on July 2nd, 1969. They moved to Sacramento Ca. in the summer of 1975. Sue became a single mother in 1978. She was a wonderful mother and worked hard to provide for David. On July 4th, 1981 she met and fell in love with Larry Field. Larry had 2 teenaged daughters. On August 21, 1982, they Married and became a family. Now Larry had the boy he always wanted, and Sue had the girls she always wanted. Sue started life as an only child, but when she joined the Field family, she learned you are never alone. She loved her Mother-In-Law Ora and all of Ora’s daughters and sons very much. She was an awesome grandmother to her 2 grandchildren and loved them more than they will ever know.
Sue joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1985. Sue and Larry were sealed for time and eternity in the Oakland Temple in 1988. Susan loved being part of the Church. She served with excellence in many callings in the church, but her favorite by far was serving in Primary with the children.
Sue wore many hats during her working years, but her favorite was when Sue and Larry purchased Jasper’s restaurant in Rocklin. They also owned Bright Beginnings, a welcoming service. Susan was involved in 7 chambers of commerce, was president of the Rocklin Chamber of Commerce, and was voted Folsom Member of the year in 2002. She retired from The Folsom Chamber in 2015 and continued to live a full life with Larry.
Ever the generous heart, she volunteered in Women’s Empowerment of Sacramento and many other Charities.
Susan ALWAYS had a smile on her face and a welcoming hug for everyone. She was extremely personable and made new friends wherever she would go. She was a friend to anybody she met and touched so many lives. Sue treasured any time that she spent with her loving husband. But spending time with him at the ocean was her greatest passion. Although she will be greatly missed, we know she is happy, healed and with her Heavenly Father.
Susan is survived by her Husband, Larry, son, David, Daughters Teri (Rickett) and Chris (Jones), Grandchildren, Chelsea and Brett Jones, son-in-law’s Andy Rickett and Rob Jones. She was preceded in death by her father, Francis James Buss, mother, LaVonne and stepmother Doris.
