Susan Elaine Gould

Susan Elaine Wootton-Gould passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. She is survived by her wife Crystal Collins, son Christopher Gould, daughter-in-law Mia Gould, stepdaughter Amber Nelson, sister Debra Wootton-duPlaine, two aunts, many cousins, her two sweet dogs Brody and Scoobie, and, of course, her many, many dear friends. Both her parents, Jay and Kathy Wootton, passed away in 2009 and 2018, respectively. 

Susan was born in Bountiful, Utah, on August 15, 1965. She spent her fun and exciting childhood in West Yellowstone, Montana, with her loving and very hands-on parents and big sister, where she was an active outdoor kid and tomboy, rambunctious, and full of energy and mischief. She then spent her very successful high school years in Grants Pass, Oregon, where she excelled not only academically but also in basketball and as first chair on trumpet / cornet in the band. 

Susan moved to Sacramento, California, in 1983 to attend college and pursue her love for technology. She had a very successful career for over 35 years in this field. Susan did take a short break from the corporate world to be her own boss and open Conroy’s Flowers before returning to the technology industry. 

Susan met and then married Jacques Gould in 1996. They very happily became parents to their son Christopher in 1997. They later divorced but remained very close friends and wonderful co-parents to Christopher throughout Susan’s life. 

In 2001, Susan reconnected with her high school friend from Grants Pass and realized she had found her soulmate and the love of her life, Crystal Collins. They had their ‘commitment’ ceremony in Greece in 2010. They later were legally married in Tahoe in 2019. They spent 25 wonderful years together. 

Susan spent her life loving camping, fishing with her dad, boating, barbequing, campfires, and being surrounded by her family and friends.
