Susan Kay Kessler

Susan passed very peacefully at the age of 70 on February 6, 2020, surrounded by friends & family in Citrus Heights, CA. Sue was born June 18, 1949 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Harry & Twila DeVriend. Sue is one of 8 siblings survived by her brothers & wives, Steve & Nancy, Gary & Terry, Mark & Susie, Jack, & sisters Peggy, & Beth. Preceded in death by sisters Judy & Paula. The DeVriend family moved to Carmichael, California when Susan was very young.

 Susan Eloped with the love of her life Mitchell Gary Johnston August 10,1966, who proceeded her in death march 31,1985. They were happily married 18 years, living most of their lives together in Citrus Heights California. Susan & Mitchell are survived by their 3 children, son & wife Tim & Lisa, Daughter & husband Megan & Paul, & Daughter Julie. Grandchildren Kendra, Chris, Bailey, Gina, Madelyn, Josephine, Owen & Elizabeth. Great Grandson Killian. Susan married Dennis Kessler June 16,1995 They spent much of their lives together in Brookings Oregon. Dennis preceded Susan in Death September 11,2010.

Susan was an artist she spent much of her life creating different types of folk art. She could create anything she set her mind to. Susan’s true passion in life was her family & friends. She was a very dedicated mother & grandmother spending much of her time with them.

Friends and family are welcome to attend graveside services on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at 11:00AM at the Fair Oaks Cemetery, 7780 Olive Street, Fair Oaks, California.
