Theodore Christian Allebes Jr. was born on July 24, 1931 in Zandvoort, Netherlands and passed away peacefully on October 31, 2021 in Draper, Utah.
Ted grew up near the beaches in the Netherlands and learned to love the outdoors. He was a child during the German occupation of the Netherlands during WWII, which instilled a love of
freedom that he felt deeply his entire life. After immigrating to the United States at the age of 19, Ted fought in the Korean War, working to share his new freedom with others in the world. Ted met and married his wife Emma after returning from Korea. He often said that she was the best thing that happened to him, and the reason he choose to live a good life. Together, they created a life centered on family and following Jesus Christ.
Ted was an accomplished artist and gardener, and loved to share these talents with family and friends. In addition to working full time in the field of art, he taught classes and shared completed works of art with many. He felt blessed to spend his workdays doing what he loved with people that felt like family.
Ted is predeceased by his wife Emma Hipwell Allebes. He is survived by his children Shenna Allebes Mealey (R Brian Mealey), Heather Allebes Phillips (D Merritt Phillips), and Reaka Allebes Bushman (Max D Bushman); also 9 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
