Thomas Anthony Sutera

Thomas Anthony Sutera was born March 10, 1975 to Thomas and Karen Sutera in Hinsdale, IL. After a courageous 2-year battle with cancer, Tom passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on February 12, 2021 in Fair Oaks, CA. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Karen Sutera, loving girlfriend, Ashley Natti, daughter, Rebecca Sutera (19), sister Sandra Sutera Martinelli (Joseph), brother Robert Sutera (Hui) and 3 nephews, Escher (9), Lincoln (4) and Orson (2).

Tom grew up in the Western suburbs of Chicago where he became an avid Chicago Sports fan! His family relocated to Eden Prairie, MN in 1986 where he graduated with honors from Eden Prairie High School. He went on to Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and graduated with honors earning a Bachler’s of Science degree in Computer Engineering. He left Illinois and began working in Folsom, CA at Intel Corporation. Tom was very proud of his impressive >20-year career at Intel where he worked along colleagues and friends, earned many awards, and had many opportunities to travel the world. Tom developed a love of travel through these experiences and he was able to share this passion with his beloved daughter, Rebecca, through many wonderful trips together around the world. 

Tom attended Lakeside Church in Folsom, CA. His faith was central to his life and served as a stronghold throughout his battle with cancer. He had the hope of heaven and is now living there with Jesus. He found great hope through many Bible verses and passages. One of his favorites is found in the book of Romans, chapter 8:

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39.

Friends and family are welcome to attend the visitation from 12:00-1:00PM on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with his memorial service at 1:00PM all at Price Funeral Chapel, 6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, 916-725-2109. Facemasks are required. The service will be livestreamed, please visit this page on the day of the service.
