The final flag was waved for Tyler Mort on October 30th, 2024. 

During the final leg of his lap, Tyler was surrounded by family going peacefully to that race track in the sky.

Tyler was born on December 30th, 1956 in Sacramento, California to Margaret and Jack Mort. He was their pride and joy. Growing up, Tyler would be found camping, fishing, hiking and enjoying other family activities. Tyler attended El Camino High School graduating early in 1975. Always a hard worker, Tyler was a dedicated heavy equipment mechanic for Holt and at one time a small business owner. 

Tyler was not just a hard working man but he was a great family man and friend. He enjoyed camping with family and friends. he loved boating and could often be found on the water looking for that next great catch. As much as he loved the water there was one land sport he loved even more. Tyler had that need for speed and could often be found on the race track. He was an accomplished off-road racer. Over the years he was part of 2 award winning racing teams; Team Scream Racing and Twocan Racing.

While Tyler loved his adventures on and off the track, he loved his family time even more. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Cindy. They were proud of the family they created together. He was a dedicated stepfather to his 3 stepchildren. He was always there when they needed help with a project or just a good laugh. The role he was most proud of was Papa to all of his grandchildren. He was never too old to race down a slip n slide or give the kids a tractor ride in the yard. Tyler was a loyal friend too. If you were Tyler's friend it meant that you were family. Tyler made lifelong connections with people. He valued his friendships and loved the time he spent with everyone.
