Veronica Diane Etzel

Veronica Diane Etzel was born on July 11, 1937 to Henry and Verona (Pull) Peters in Fargo, North Dakota and passed away on June 12, 2024 in Orangevale, CA.  Veronica was the loving wife of 59 years of Lt. Col Gregory A.M. Etzel (retired), and mother of Deborah Shupe (Doug), Jennifer Longstreet (Dan), Guy Etzel (Kristi), Christopher and Mimi Stevens (Don). She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was an only child, but had close cousins. 

While attending ND State, she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma a fraternity of women. She married Guy Enabnit, an Air Force pilot in 1956 and they had 4 children. Guy's passing in 1963 due a private airplane accident left her widowed at 26 years old. Veronica met Greg, another Air Force pilot. They married and had a daughter, Mimi. Because Veronica was a military wife, she lived in many places; Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Maryland, Japan,  Southern and Northern California.

Veronica spent many years volunteering at the Sacramento Food Bank, Holy Family Catholic Church Feed the Needy and Catholic Ladies Relief Society. She enjoyed participating and attending her children's school and sporting activities, gardening, shopping, traveling and had an interest in genealogy, aliens, and especially decorating her home. She participated in an archeological dig while living at Edwards AFB in the Mojave Desert.

Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing 12:00 - 12:30 pm, Mass 12:30 - 1:30 pm and reception immediately following on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Citrus Heights, CA.  Interment scheduled for Monday, July 1st at 10:30 am at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, California).  Price Funeral Chapel (916-725-2109), directors.
