Vladyslav Dombrovskyy Obituary

Vladyslav Dombrovskyy was born on May 23, 1990, in Ternopil, Ukraine. From a young age, he was full of life—an active, joyful, and determined boy who took his first steps at just eight months old. He began school in 1996 and quickly stood out for his energy, enthusiasm, and love of sports.

At eight years old, Vlad began swimming, but it was wrestling that captured his heart and shaped his life. Under the guidance of his first coach, Valeriy Krasovski, he developed the discipline and drive that would define him. His dedication led him to become Ukraine’s Cadet National Freestyle Champion—a remarkable accomplishment that marked the beginning of an extraordinary athletic journey.

In 1999, Vlad became a proud big brother when his sister Valerie was born. He adored her deeply and was always protective, embodying the warmth and kindness that would later touch so many lives. His mother was, and always will be, immensely proud of her son.

In 2007, Vlad moved with his mother and sister to the United States, where he continued to pursue his passion for wrestling. Training under coach Don Martinez, he quickly made his mark, becoming California State Champion—a title still honored on the wall of Natomas High School. After graduating, he attended Sierra College, continuing to wrestle and inspire those around him.

Along his journey, Vlad formed deep bonds with many people who became more than just friends—they became family. His loyalty, humor, and generosity created lifelong connections that enriched every chapter of his life.

In 2013, Vlad proudly joined the U.S. Army and became a member of the World Class Athlete Program (WCAP), where he competed in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. His dedication and skill earned him recognition as a three-time Freestyle All-American and a 2018 Greco-Roman All-American. Among his many accomplishments were a bronze medal at the 2019 Dave Schultz Memorial International and four All-Armed Forces Championships.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Vlad was a man of deep love and loyalty. In 2022, he met the love of his life, Anna, and together they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Melania—his greatest joy and source of pride. Becoming a father filled him with purpose and happiness beyond measure.

Vlad lived with passion, courage, and kindness. He gave his all to everything he did and inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though his life ended far too soon, his strength, laughter, and spirit will live on forever in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who loved him.

Forever remembered. Forever loved.
May he rest in peace.
