William Roy Campbell

William Roy Campbell was born December 9, 1945 in Hampton, Elizabeth City, Virginia the first child of Roy Keith and Indie Adell (Messick) Campbell. He passed peacefully from this life into the next on February 24, 2024 in Roseville, Placer, California. Roy as he was called, grew up the son of an Air Force man and with that moved to many homes, ending up in base housing in North Highlands, Sacramento, California.  He graduated from Roseville High school in 1964.  Shortly after he began working for Payless Drug Store.  He first married Linda Schular and had three children, Joanna, William and Carolyn. He married Shirley Glidden on May 20,1977 and with this marriage gained four bonus children, Terry, Teresa, Lisa, and Steven. In 1978 he began working for a cabinet shop in Roseville where he met his future business partner, Dale Solomon.  In 1980 they started a business together and the Cabinet Mill became Roy’s home away from home. He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Shirley Campbell; his children Joanna (Brad) Tracy; William (Cheryl) Campbell and Carolyn (Aaron) Campbell.  In addition, he is survived by his bonus children Terry (Diane) Harvey; Teresa Haberman; Lisa Macri and Steven (Sheri) Harvey. His siblings Sherry (Tommy) Heller; Bonnie (Richard) Waldrop; Candace Grassi and his brother-in-law Jim Bates also survive him.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Pamela “Bambi” Bates and his brother Tony Campbell.  There will be a celebration of life held at the Cabinet Mill, 215 Kenroy Lane #10, Roseville, California on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11 am to 2 pm.  Lunch will be provided.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the SPCA as Roy loved dogs.
