William Ivey Obituary

William Lynn Ivey, more commonly know as Lynn, passed away on August 11th 2021 in his home in Lincoln, California. He was born on August 11th 1947 to Naydean Staley and Charles William Ivey. He was the oldest of five children: Lynn, Karen, Diane, Britt and Kevin. Some would argue that he was also the biggest tease of all of them. He grew up in Roseville, California and graduated from Roseville High School in 1965.

After high school, Lynn served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to New Zealand. Upon his return, he continued his education at Sierra College. He married Eloween Wooters in March of 1969. Together they had six children: Aaron, Darrel, Robyn, Kendel, Jared and Amanda. He began his over 40 year law enforcement career with the Roseville Police Department in January of 1970. He later worked for Sacramento County and the Cal Expo Police Department. He loved police work. Many of his greatest stories and friendships came from his time in public service.

In April 1986, Lynn married Sharon Sloper and added another three children to his fold: Jamin, Gennica and Kaelynn.

In May 1999, Lynn married Kelley Beyer and added 5 boys to his family, Nick, Jordan, Logan, Davin and Parke.

Lynn's family has grown to 38 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Lynn loved his family, especially his grandkids. Nothing gave him greater pleasure and joy than for a grandchild to crawl up on his lap for a little snuggle. Regardless of distance or circumstance, Lynn was always mindful and concerned about his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed going to sporting events and performances, school plays and graduations to support his family. He was a voice of comfort, wisdom and experience.

Lynn is survived by his mother, Naydean Staley (Crowell), his wife Kelley Beyer, Eloween Wooters, Sharon Sloper, his four siblings: Karen, Diane, Britt and Kevin, his 14 children and bonus children, 36 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Preceded in death are his father Charles William Ivey and 2 grandchildren, Trevor and Kevin.
