William James Kinney, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home October 29, 2022. He was born to William James Kinney, Sr. and Adeline Kemp Kinney and the older of two children. He had just celebrated his 95 th birthday on October 16, 2022. William was born in Midvale, Utah, where he lived until joining in marriage to Margaret Short Kinney on March 1, 1966. He retired from Caltrans State Highways Landscape Division in 1991 in Sacramento, CA. He spent most of his years in Roseville Granite Bay California area. He was a devout and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who served in many church callings. He, along with his wife, served as full-time senior service missionaries in the California Roseville Mission Office, Roseville, California from 1996-1997. He was a loving and most cherished father of 6 children, grandfather of 22, great grandfather of 63, and great great Grandfather of 11. He is preceded in death by William James Kinney, Sr. (father); Adeline Kemp Kinney (mother); Leo Craig Kinney (son); Irene Margaret Short Kinney (wife). He is survived by Jerald Kinney Pratt (brother); Barbara Pratt (sister-in-law); Kenna Swaner-Wagner (daughter); Richard Wagner (son-in-law); Kristie Thorne (daughter); Jim Thorne (son-in-law); Pat Jensen (daughter); Launa Thompson (daughter); Rick Thompson, Sr. (son-in-law); Lyle Ethington (son). Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 17, 2022, 10:30 am; viewing at 9:30 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel, 6460 Cavitt Stallman Road, Granite Bay, CA.
